
WILLEM W. JEWETT was born in New Rochelle, New York, on August 23, 1963,
and became a resident of Ripton in 1996.
Occupation: Attorney.
He was educated at Bowdoin College,
Brunswick, Maine (B.A., psychology, 1985); Lewis and Clark College,
Portland, Oregon (J.D., 1994; certificate in natural resource law). He
is married to Jean Dickson Cherouny and they have two daughters, Anneke
and Abigail.

Regional Planning Commission; Vermont Bar Association;

Vermont Audubon.
Member of the House: 2003-2004,
2005-2006, 2007-2008.
House Judiciary Committee 2003-2008. Joint Committee on Judicial
Retention 2007-2008 (vice chair), 2009-10 (chair). Assistant Majority
Leader 2011-12.
Among
the issues that Willem advocates passionately for are a healthy and
sustainable environment; providing public education through excellent
local schools; rebuilding our transportation infrastructure; a more
careful approach toward carcinogenic chemicals; and outdoor recreation
and athletic competition.
